Where is the border between freedom and escape? Dream and sleep? Your country, and you?

I Want A Country is an experimental theater piece set on the watery edge of 21st century Greece. The play comes to life through a modern-day chorus– a public that exists within the space of Greece but whose varied positionalities challenge the idea of a homogenous, cohesive, and controllable population. These people grapple with the trauma of living through the death of one’s country, dancing the tension between escape and freedom as the groundlessness and instability of the outside world demand a redefinition of country.
